When You Carry The Light

As I travelled alone through the dense night
What started out with a panic
Slowly vanished
I thought I possessed magic
For nothing happened that was tragic
All that anxiety was all for nothing
If I knew from the start there was nothing to fear
When you carry the light
I would’ve made the best of the night
Instead of praying for daylight

Never Meant To Last

Sad is the Dark Cloud
Floating with an heavy heart
Happy is the Sunshine
That shares the brightest light
Grateful is the Rainbow
That survived the wicked storm
At peace is the Person
Who doesn’t fight the weather
But accept each moment
As it comes
Knowing moods like weather
Are temporary
Never meant to last.

Cheap Talk

They say words are just words and talk is so cheap
But your words are reckless
With intent to harm
So I can’t afford your cheap talks
Those cheap talks been costly
And eventhough it’s your words
And I shouldn’t take it personally
Well your words penetrate
Like a sword through the flesh
So when you’re left talking
And, no one cares to listen
It’s for you to feel
The weight of your words
When you’ve no one left listening
To bear the brunt of your words
I guess talks aren’t so cheap
And words aren’t just words
When you’re finally paying a price

To Be With Me

He’s Yellow and I am Green
But he wants to be Green
Because I’m Green
I find it sweet
He wants to be like me
But he doesn’t need to
Sacrifice him to be with me

Connected

I think I wrote you into being
Or maybe it’s all my imagination
That I find you in every inspiring word
And every heart felt line
I’ve written
Even all the ones I wrote before
I ever met you
If you don’t believe me
Take a walk through my writings
See how much of you you find
When you’re finish with your findings
Tell me of your discoveries
Do you now see clearer
How much of you is in me
We’ve always been connected
And connected always we will be

In Your Endless Supply

I’m just a river
In the valley low
Hitting rocks
And rock bottoms
As I flow down stream
Tryng to get closer to you
But, you’re an ocean deep
And we’re worlds apart
Still that won’t deter me
From flowing to you
For in you
I find a safe place
I can call home
Will you welcome me in
With a kiss
On the forehead
And allow me to create
Waves mountain high
In your endless supply
Of what nourishes me

This Is For You

This is for you
For you who provide relief
A safe place to rest
When life’s one crumbling mess
This is for you
For you who inspires
Who shine like rainbows
When life storms hit in rows
This is for you
For you who offer a song
A melody that soothes
What pains the soul
This is for you
For you who have nothing
Tangible to offer
But showed up nonetheless
Your gift is priceless
It says we’re in the same boat
I’m offering you companionship
A friend to ride out the storm
So you’re no longer alone
So this is for you
Just because you showed up
You gave what was needed most

I’ll Keep You Dear

I can write you a thousand poems
If you need it to feel special
But, none will truly tell
How sacred I hold you dear
For it’s within my heart where I feel
It’s most safe to keep you dear
So, though write I write
And, write I will continue to write
I’ll never write how dear you’re to me
Not because you’re not so dear
It’s just impossible to write you dear
On pages in a poem where you’ll be read
Like all the others before you
When you’re so much more than a poem to me
You’re sacred, and belong in a sacred place
So in my heart I’ll keep you dear

Rest In Peace Fear

She mulled over the possibilities
Of facing her greatest fear
That have long created monsters
Angels and demons that haunts her soul
These buried emotions
Will surely leave one undone
But, she’s not done digging
The damage already done
It’s time for some fun
With these ghost that haunts
Not time to run
It’s rivival time – party time
Let’s have some fun
With these demons in the Sun
The light will surely do some good
For in the light, they aren’t so frightening
In the light, they are neither big nor bad
All those years spent riddled with fear
Created illusions of monsters and ghosts
That kept her in bondage and shackles
But monsters in the dark disappear in the light
Rest in peace fear

Afraid To Be Seen

He’s afraid of what I can see
So he wants me to be scared to see
He worries about the unseen
Things of this world haunts him
Maybe he’s afraid I see him
Where he doesn’t want to be seen
For this makes him vulnerable
To always be seen
He can’t fake goodness
But I’m not seeking goodness
I’m seeking truth
This truth makes him fragile
But I’m gentle, I won’t break him
My aim is to cradle, where he’s most feeble

Deep Down Inside

You write pretty, I write my truth
It may not be pretty
But could it also be your truth
Wrapped in ordinary wrappings
No fancy bows or eloborate coverings
Just the simple truth
We all feel deep down inside

It’s Not Magic, You Earned It

You said you’re a winner
Accept your winnings
It’s not sinning
So smile at your blessings
Beginner’s luck
So they guessing
But you know better
It’s been in the making
For years you been singing
I’m a winner
Now it’s your time to win
Don’t second guess it — get it
It’s not sinning to be winning
Throw the doubts in the bin
And dump it
This is only the beginning
Greater is still coming
So start accepting the offerings
Like you accepted the suffering
They go hand in hand
It’s not magic, you earned it

The Human Experience

I am
Pouring
Me out to you
Can’t you feel
My pain
Can’t you see
I’m hurting
Can’t you hear
Lonesome tear drops
How they fall
On deaf ears
No one care
To hear
Of horrors
No one wants
To share
Your sorrows
It’s your cross
Not theirs to bear
So don’t ask for favors
In the midst of your trials
Face the terrors
That lurk in the shadows
Then accept and forgive
These human errors
It’s all part of
The human experience

The Appointed Time

I don’t want anyone
But the promised one
If he doesn’t show up
Then no one will
I’ve already gone too far
For anyone to reach me
So I am waiting
On the promised one
I know, he’s the only one
Who will find me here
In the valley
On holy grounds
For he’s the anointed one
He’ll be here
At the appointed time
So I’ll keep waiting
On holy grounds
For the promised one
He’s the anointed one
Who will find me here
At the appointed time

Uncaged

To deny my feelings a space to be free
And come unhinged
Is pure insanity
So I reserve a space
For them to roam
To wander, and unravel
To run, and let loose
Across pages upon pages
Making up ground for time spent caged
Like leopards in the wilderness
Here they free to be
To growl, to purr
This is how it supposed to be
Not muzzled, tamed or confined

I’ve Learned To Fly

I’m ready, I’m open
I know it’s time to fly
Though time has passed me by
While I mulled on all the ruins
I’ve yelled and I’ve screamed
But that didn’t lull the pain
So I let go, I gave up
I handed over
It all
I cease to fight
I’ve learned to trust the process
Not because I know for certain
It will be okay
I was left no choice
But to surrender it all
So I built me an alter, and I lay the ruins down
Then soon after, an Angel appeared
And under his wings, I’ve learned to fly

Allow Me To Fall Apart

I fall apart
Sometimes, I fall apart
And it’s ok
When I fall apart
I fall to break
Not to break my fall
But to break in pieces
When I can’t get over
I breakdown
To break through
Though it’s never pretty
When you break
It hurts
Leaving you in pieces
To pick up the pieces
While you’re in pieces
But we need to fall to pieces
That’s how we transform
We breakdown
So give me a break
Allow me to fall apart

In Her Own Way

Someone told me he witnessed
A pastor removing demons
From a girl who lost her dad
And was demon-possessed
He said, if he hadn’t seen it
He wouldn’t believe it
That demons existed
So I asked, have you ever seen
A magician performed
Because pastors can be Magicians
And Wizards too
He said, you exibit the signs
You might also be possessed
You should avoid graveyards
Or the demons will attack
Avoid people grieving
For they possess demons
Stay away from those suffering
Or you’ll be their victim
So I asked, where is the compassion
In this your religious stance…
Haven’t you ever been hurt
Or suffered a loss
Did anyone said
You were demon-possessed
Or needed to be cleansed
After you suffered deeply
From this traumatic loss
Were you ever the same
After experiencing this loss
For people do change
After a traumatic loss
She was never demon-possessed
Just coming to terms with his death
Grieving her loss in her own way

The Awakening

I’m coming out, I’m going home
I’m heading to a higher plane
Love lost, love found
Love will take you higher
I fall asleep, I dream awake
I live in both these states
Crazy it sounds, confused I’m not
This is the awakening

Shadow

Shadow walks
Shadow talks
Shadow left
His footprint
On my heart
Shadow is sweet
Shadow is mean
Shadow is a constant
Friend indeed

Scars are cool
So they say
Until they feel the rips and tears
That punctures the heart
And pierce the soul
Leaving an eternal burn

After baring my soul

I accept myself

Across The Sea

Though the tides were rough
And the journey long
Across the sea
I had to flee
For there must be
A better life
Than the one I left behind

Swept Away

As the leaves fall from trees so tall
I feel so small
As I Lay down on the ground below
So far beneath the top of the trees
Nestled by all these silent beings so rooted in the ground
That only a rare act of nature could bring them down
A gentle breeze brushed against my skin
So cool and so calm
Easing my fears and caressing my cares
That for a moment
My mind was free of a thousand thoughts and a thousand fears
That must have been carried away by the breeze, like the leaves from trees
To be buried in the grass or swept away .

Not Finish Yet

There will be times you smile
When you just want to cry
But, it’s not your style
And only you know why
You take it on the chin
There’s no time to sigh
Your life has been an uphill climb
With vultures around you
Can’t wait for your demise
But, there’s good within you
So they can’t touch you
Let them flutter their feathers
You know what awaits you

Put On a Happy Song

If you want to feel happy
And not be so crabby
Then put on a happy song
If the blues make you sad
And you want to be glad
Then put on a happy song
When the world is weighing down
And you can’t lift the weight
Then put on a happy song
If your heart won’t change it’s tune
And you’re stuck on being blue
Please don’t go cramping my mood
Just put on a happy song
For if you can’t let go the pain
And you want to pass the blame
Maybe a song will change your mind
So put on a happy song
There’s a message in the music
That is sure to affect the brain
And if you don’t believe this true
Then keep listening to the blues
And watch the lights dim on you

Locked In, Looking Out

Looking through this wire framed
I feel so caged
But who’s to blame
In this emotional state
I’ve kept myself locked
By wires and frames
I can easily break
I know what’s waiting
On the other side
For through the links
I can see heaven’s glow
So there’s no need to be trapped
This I know
I could cut through the wires
And bask in the glow

The Dark

Is it the Stars or the Moon
Or the Sun we hope shine soon
What’s this uneasiness with the night
That cause our fears to balloon
So confused and convinced
That the dark is to be feared
We close our eyes to it’s brilliance
Perturbed by the strength in it’s stillness
That we stay blind to it’s depth
Praying for a light
We’re ashamed to see in the dark

He Doesn’t Know

He doesn’t know
I know he’s scared
He doesn’t know
There’s no need to fear
He doesn’t know
How much I care
He doesn’t know
No other compare
He doesn’t know much
But heartache and pain
His eyes are blurred
By grief and shame
So he can’t see me
Through the haze
To know my heart
Is kind and true

No Divinity In Separateness

Femininity on the rise
Masculinity feels threatened
I’m not surprise
Humanity has always been partial
If it’s not this cause, it’s that cause
What are we fighting for
From one extreme to the next
Where is the equanimity
Humans hate themselves
Thus no acceptance
No equilibrium
No serenity
No divinity
No love
Not even for the sake of
Our sanity
This is insanity
Humanity at war with itself
Forever burning internally in eternity
Until we realized there’s no divinity in separateness

Waiting On That Miracle

Waiting on that miracle
You promised many moons ago
That made me took the plunge
Now I’m searching oracles
For answers I can’t seem to find
This feels like an eternal test
You said, it’s for the best
But, it’s not feeling good right now
Where is that miracle
I’ve already read all the oracles
Seen all the posted signs
Followed all the trails you left
Along the path that you design
But, still haven’t seen that miracle
Have you forgotten the promised made
For it’s nowhere in sight
And what a price, I’ve already paid

Like A Butterfly

Love transforms like a butterfly
No need to cry
You’ll soon know why
So wipe away that tear your eye
For you’ll soon see
You’re not going to die
Though your world seem crazy
Upside down right now
Hanging by a thread, at the end of your rope
Love transforms like a butterfly
You may feel alone
But, you’re never alone
There are angels standing by
With wings so wide to take you high
And catch your fall if you should slither
So take that leap and dive in deeper
Into your essence, your soul, your being
And soon you too will be floating
Like a butterfly

You’re A Gem

Those eyes that smile
That touch so kind
Leave a feeling so sublime
It breaks through the numbness
In the dead of night
When all seem forlorn
No joy to find
You were that gem
That twinkle
That light that shine
That guided me through
The dead of night
