In Your Endless Supply

I’m just a river
In the valley low
Hitting rocks
And rock bottoms
As I flow down stream
Tryng to get closer to you
But, you’re an ocean deep
And we’re worlds apart
Still that won’t deter me
From flowing to you
For in you
I find a safe place
I can call home
Will you welcome me in
With a kiss
On the forehead
And allow me to create
Waves mountain high
In your endless supply
Of what nourishes me

Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing

A new day is dawning
My light is still shining
God has been so good
Never left me weeping
Ken, you’re a liar
God never left me
How can I trust you
You speak like the devil
While fronting you’re righteous
Wolf in sheep’s clothing – That’s what we call you

This Is For You

This is for you
For you who provide relief
A safe place to rest
When life’s one crumbling mess
This is for you
For you who inspires
Who shine like rainbows
When life storms hit in rows
This is for you
For you who offer a song
A melody that soothes
What pains the soul
This is for you
For you who have nothing
Tangible to offer
But showed up nonetheless
Your gift is priceless
It says we’re in the same boat
I’m offering you companionship
A friend to ride out the storm
So you’re no longer alone
So this is for you
Just because you showed up
You gave what was needed most

I’ll Keep You Dear

I can write you a thousand poems
If you need it to feel special
But, none will truly tell
How sacred I hold you dear
For it’s within my heart where I feel
It’s most safe to keep you dear
So, though write I write
And, write I will continue to write
I’ll never write how dear you’re to me
Not because you’re not so dear
It’s just impossible to write you dear
On pages in a poem where you’ll be read
Like all the others before you
When you’re so much more than a poem to me
You’re sacred, and belong in a sacred place
So in my heart I’ll keep you dear

Rest In Peace Fear

She mulled over the possibilities
Of facing her greatest fear
That have long created monsters
Angels and demons that haunts her soul
These buried emotions
Will surely leave one undone
But, she’s not done digging
The damage already done
It’s time for some fun
With these ghost that haunts
Not time to run
It’s rivival time – party time
Let’s have some fun
With these demons in the Sun
The light will surely do some good
For in the light, they aren’t so frightening
In the light, they are neither big nor bad
All those years spent riddled with fear
Created illusions of monsters and ghosts
That kept her in bondage and shackles
But monsters in the dark disappear in the light
Rest in peace fear

Afraid To Be Seen

He’s afraid of what I can see
So he wants me to be scared to see
He worries about the unseen
Things of this world haunts him
Maybe he’s afraid I see him
Where he doesn’t want to be seen
For this makes him vulnerable
To always be seen
He can’t fake goodness
But I’m not seeking goodness
I’m seeking truth
This truth makes him fragile
But I’m gentle, I won’t break him
My aim is to cradle, where he’s most feeble

Let Love Be Your Guide

Round and round
The grey clouds twirl
Confused you should be
Lost you should feel
But with love as your guide
You always shine through
The fear mongering
Despair lingering
Hopeless feeling

Deep Down Inside

You write pretty, I write my truth
It may not be pretty
But could it also be your truth
Wrapped in ordinary wrappings
No fancy bows or eloborate coverings
Just the simple truth
We all feel deep down inside

It’s Not Magic, You Earned It

You said you’re a winner
Accept your winnings
It’s not sinning
So smile at your blessings
Beginner’s luck
So they guessing
But you know better
It’s been in the making
For years you been singing
I’m a winner
Now it’s your time to win
Don’t second guess it — get it
It’s not sinning to be winning
Throw the doubts in the bin
And dump it
This is only the beginning
Greater is still coming
So start accepting the offerings
Like you accepted the suffering
They go hand in hand
It’s not magic, you earned it

The Human Experience

I am
Pouring
Me out to you
Can’t you feel
My pain
Can’t you see
I’m hurting
Can’t you hear
Lonesome tear drops
How they fall
On deaf ears
No one care
To hear
Of horrors
No one wants
To share
Your sorrows
It’s your cross
Not theirs to bear
So don’t ask for favors
In the midst of your trials
Face the terrors
That lurk in the shadows
Then accept and forgive
These human errors
It’s all part of
The human experience

The Appointed Time

I don’t want anyone
But the promised one
If he doesn’t show up
Then no one will
I’ve already gone too far
For anyone to reach me
So I am waiting
On the promised one
I know, he’s the only one
Who will find me here
In the valley
On holy grounds
For he’s the anointed one
He’ll be here
At the appointed time
So I’ll keep waiting
On holy grounds
For the promised one
He’s the anointed one
Who will find me here
At the appointed time

Uncaged

To deny my feelings a space to be free
And come unhinged
Is pure insanity
So I reserve a space
For them to roam
To wander, and unravel
To run, and let loose
Across pages upon pages
Making up ground for time spent caged
Like leopards in the wilderness
Here they free to be
To growl, to purr
This is how it supposed to be
Not muzzled, tamed or confined

I’ve Learned To Fly

I’m ready, I’m open
I know it’s time to fly
Though time has passed me by
While I mulled on all the ruins
I’ve yelled and I’ve screamed
But that didn’t lull the pain
So I let go, I gave up
I handed over
It all
I cease to fight
I’ve learned to trust the process
Not because I know for certain
It will be okay
I was left no choice
But to surrender it all
So I built me an alter, and I lay the ruins down
Then soon after, an Angel appeared
And under his wings, I’ve learned to fly

Allow Me To Fall Apart

I fall apart
Sometimes, I fall apart
And it’s ok
When I fall apart
I fall to break
Not to break my fall
But to break in pieces
When I can’t get over
I breakdown
To break through
Though it’s never pretty
When you break
It hurts
Leaving you in pieces
To pick up the pieces
While you’re in pieces
But we need to fall to pieces
That’s how we transform
We breakdown
So give me a break
Allow me to fall apart

In Her Own Way

Someone told me he witnessed
A pastor removing demons
From a girl who lost her dad
And was demon-possessed
He said, if he hadn’t seen it
He wouldn’t believe it
That demons existed
So I asked, have you ever seen
A magician performed
Because pastors can be Magicians
And Wizards too
He said, you exibit the signs
You might also be possessed
You should avoid graveyards
Or the demons will attack
Avoid people grieving
For they possess demons
Stay away from those suffering
Or you’ll be their victim
So I asked, where is the compassion
In this your religious stance…
Haven’t you ever been hurt
Or suffered a loss
Did anyone said
You were demon-possessed
Or needed to be cleansed
After you suffered deeply
From this traumatic loss
Were you ever the same
After experiencing this loss
For people do change
After a traumatic loss
She was never demon-possessed
Just coming to terms with his death
Grieving her loss in her own way

The Awakening

I’m coming out, I’m going home
I’m heading to a higher plane
Love lost, love found
Love will take you higher
I fall asleep, I dream awake
I live in both these states
Crazy it sounds, confused I’m not
This is the awakening

Shadow

Shadow walks
Shadow talks
Shadow left
His footprint
On my heart
Shadow is sweet
Shadow is mean
Shadow is a constant
Friend indeed

Scars Are Cool

Scars are cool
So they say
Until they feel the rips and tears
That punctures the heart
And pierce the soul
Leaving an eternal burn

Naked

I was left naked
After baring my soul
But I no longer fear nudity
I accept myself

Across The Sea

Though the tides were rough
And the journey long
Across the sea
I had to flee
For there must be
A better life
Than the one I left behind
